I’m a senior UI/UX Designer based in Paris with over 10 years’ experience in communications agencies in London and Paris. I help companies, associations and communications agencies in the design of websites and mobile applications.
Collaboration and education
Collaboration is at the heart of my practice: I’m actively listening to the various stakeholders in a project (clients, end users, technologists…), to design a product that is aligned both with the defined goals and the brand’s identity.
I also adopt a pedagogical approach at all stages of a project: I strive to explain my creative choices, in a spirit of dialog and transparency, to ensure that everyone involved understands them and is in line with them.
Finally, I pay particular attention to web accessibility from the UI/UX design point of view, and I try as much as possible to collaborate with web developers who are also sensitive to this. This means paying attention to colour contrasts, text legibility, clear writing on the interface (UX writing), the choice of visuals and the inclusion of transcriptions for images (when necessary), video and audio content.
Process
Understanding your users’ needs and defining you product’s objectives are key to create an effective and memorable digital product. The below steps help clarify or define a creative brief:
→ Audits
→ Benchmaks
→ Personas
→ Interviews/surveys…
After having defined or clarified the creative brief together, one or more creative routes are explored. These are discussed together then validated, so as to choose an art direction and a site structure. Deliverables:
→ Sitemaps
→ Mood boards
→ Wireframes
→ UI designs
→ Prototypes
Once the art direction and site structure are validated, responsive templates rollout and technical specifications are created, before moving on to web development. Deliverables:
→ Responsive screens
→ Styleguide/UI kit
→ Technical specifications
→ QA
Once a site has been launched, it is always possible to audit it and keep improving it, particularly in the light of its performance (page views, bounce rate, etc) or user tests.
